"The Two Covenants"

Both the Old and the New Covenants concern the unchanging Law of God, the Ten Commandments.  The first contract was written in stone, but the second, "everlasting" Covenant (Ez. 16:60) is written in the heart!

The first Covenant between God and Israel was, of course, faulty, being based on the promises of the all-too-human Israel.  The old Covenant had no mediator, and no provision for forgiveness. This is why the contract remained temporary and eventually failed.  Both the Old and New Covenants are between God and Israel, and are ratified by blood; The Old by the blood of animals, and the New by the blood of Christ.  Yahshvah makes the New Covenant with "Spiritual" Israel (Eph. 2:12,13)  - the "Bride of Christ", the Church. (Rev. 19:7-9; 21:9; 22:17)
